Orlando Magic Legend to Be Honored

WEB ORLANDO -- The Orlando Magic will induct Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway into its Hall of Fame on Friday, March 31, 2023, the team announced today.

Hardaway, a four-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-NBA First Team selection, played for the Magic from 1993 to 2000. He was a key member of the team's run to the NBA Finals in 1995 and was named the NBA's Most Improved Player in 1996.

After his playing career, Hardaway worked as an assistant coach for the Magic from 2014 to 2018. He is currently the head coach of the University of Memphis men's basketball team.

"Penny Hardaway is one of the most iconic players in Orlando Magic history," said Magic President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman. "He was a key part of our success in the 1990s and helped put the Magic on the map. We are thrilled to induct him into our Hall of Fame and celebrate his incredible career."

Hardaway will be the 10th player inducted into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame. He joins Shaquille O'Neal, Tracy McGrady, Grant Hill, Steve Francis, Scott Skiles, Darrell Armstrong, Nick Anderson, Dennis Scott, and Horace Grant.
