Brisbane Lions sign Shadeau Brain to two-year deal

The Brisbane Lions have re-signed exciting utility Shadeau Brain on a new two-year deal keeping him at Brighton until the end of 2024.
Brain has been a revelation for the Lions since joining the club in 2021, playing 16 games and kicking 10 goals in his first season. The 22-year-old has continued to impress in 2023, playing in all 12 games and averaging 20 disposals and five marks per game.
Lions football manager Danny Daly said he was delighted to have secured Brain's services for the next two seasons.
"Shad has been a great addition to our club and we're really excited about what he can bring to the team in the future," Daly said.
"He's a versatile player who can play in a number of positions, and he has a great work ethic and attitude. We believe he has the potential to be a long-term player for the Brisbane Lions."
Brain said he was excited to continue his career with the Lions.
"I'm really happy to have signed a new deal with the Lions," Brain said.
"I've loved my time at the club so far and I'm looking forward to what the future holds. I believe we have a bright future and I'm keen to play my part in helping the Lions achieve success."
