Former NHL Star Brings Coaching Expertise to Calgary

The Flames have added another experienced coach to their staff with the hiring of Marc Savard.

Savard, a former NHL player who played for the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and Minnesota Wild, joined the Flames before the 2023-24 season. He will join head coach Ryan Huska's staff as an assistant coach.

Savard brings a wealth of experience to the Flames, having played over 800 games in the NHL. He is also a former coach of the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

In his playing days, Savard was known for his offensive skill and creativity. He was a gifted playmaker who could create scoring chances for himself and his teammates. He is expected to bring that same creativity to his coaching role with the Flames.
