Tributes have been paid to rugby league legend Rob Burrow following his death at the age of 41. The former Leeds Rhinos scrum-half was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019.

Burrow's former teammate Kevin Sinfield said he was "the toughest and bravest man I have ever met".

"He was a true warrior on the field and an inspiration off it," Sinfield said. "He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him."

The Prince of Wales also paid tribute to Burrow, saying he was "an inspiration to so many".

"His courage and determination in the face of such adversity was truly remarkable," the Prince said.

Burrow made 492 appearances for Leeds Rhinos, scoring 172 tries. He won eight Super League titles, three Challenge Cups and two World Club Challenges with the club.

He was also a key member of the England team, winning 15 caps.

In 2019, Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, a progressive neurological condition that affects the brain and spinal cord.

Despite his diagnosis, Burrow continued to inspire others. He raised more than £2 million for research into motor neurone disease through his foundation.

Burrow's death is a huge loss to the rugby league community and to everyone who knew him.

He will be remembered as a true warrior, an inspiration and a legend of the game.
