American breaks own record set in 2015 by 3 seconds

Ledecky continues her reign of dominance in the event

Katie Ledecky posted a time of 15:29.64 in the women's 1500-meter freestyle to win her heat by 29 seconds at the FINA Swimming World Cup in Doha on Saturday night.

The time is a new world record in the 1500m short course, breaking the previous record of 15:32.65 set by Ledecky herself in 2015.

Ledecky swam the 200-m freestyle at 10:41 am then dove back into the pool for the grueling 1500.

With her win in the 1500 free today, Ledecky continues her ten-year long and going reign of dominance in the event. She has now won the 1500 free at every major international competition since the 2012 London Olympics.
